Master of Computer Applications

Established in 2021, the Master of Computer Applications (MCA) program at Ashoka Women’s Engineering College prepares students for professional careers in the software and IT industry. The department offers a 2-year MCA program with admissions through AP-ICET and an annual intake of 300 students.

The program combines strong academic learning with practical exposure to ensure that students meet the highest benchmarks of competence required by the technology industry. Classrooms are equipped with projectors and modern teaching infrastructure to support interactive learning and technical training.

Head of the Department

Dr. C. Saranya holds a B.E. degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Anna University (2010) and an M.E. degree in VLSI Design from Karpagam University (2012). She was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in the Faculty of Information and Communication Engineering by Anna University (2025). She has published 12 research papers in reputed international journals and conferences and possesses 13 years of teaching and academic experience.

She has successfully completed C Programming Language certification courses and is an active contributor to professional and academic development. She has completed multiple NPTEL certification programs and secured topper positions in courses such as Problem Solving through Programming in C and Data Structures & Algorithm Design. She has actively participated in numerous Faculty Development Programs (FDPs), workshops, seminars, and conferences conducted by various reputed institutions.

Apart from academics and research, she actively encourages student-centric learning through organizing workshops, technical seminars, coding activities, industrial visits, guest lectures, and hands-on training programs that help students enhance their practical knowledge and industry readiness. She is committed to fostering academic excellence, improving student learning outcomes, and contributing to institutional development through innovative teaching methodologies and continuous learning practices.
