Our Story
Ashoka Women’s Engineering College was founded with a clear purpose of empowering women through quality technical education and preparing them for meaningful careers in engineering, technology, and leadership.
History
Established in 2008, Ashoka Women’s Engineering College was created to expand access to high-quality technical education for women in Kurnool and the surrounding regions. The institution was initially known as Dr. K. V. Subba Reddy College of Engineering for Women (KVSW) and was renamed Ashoka Women’s Engineering College in 2020, reflecting its evolving academic identity.
Over the years, the college has steadily grown in academic strength and infrastructure. In 2023, the institution achieved autonomous status, enabling greater academic flexibility and stronger industry alignment.
As a dedicated women’s engineering institution, Ashoka continues to create opportunities for students to pursue education in engineering, technology, and management while building confident professional futures.

Chairman
Sri. K. Ashok Vardhan Reddy serves as the Chairman of Ashoka Women’s Engineering College. An alumnus of the Indian School of Business (ISB), he has been actively involved in promoting women’s empowerment through education, contributing to various initiatives that support this cause.
With a strong vision for inclusive growth, his efforts focus on building a workforce capable of addressing real-world challenges through quality technical education. Under his guidance, the institution continues to make significant contributions to empowering women in engineering and fostering academic excellence.

Dr. K. Haris Krishna
CEO
Dr. K. Haris Krishna serves as the CEO of Ashoka Women’s Engineering College, bringing over 14 years of academic experience along with exposure to multinational environments. Holding a Doctorate in Management Studies, he has played a key role in shaping the institution’s growth and strengthening its vision for quality higher education.
He strongly believes that education is a powerful tool for women empowerment. Under his leadership, Ashoka has built a safe, disciplined, and opportunity-driven environment that encourages young women to develop confidence, leadership skills, and career readiness.
Dr. R. Naveen
Principal
Prof. R. Naveen serves as the Principal of Ashoka Women’s Engineering College and holds a Doctorate from Anna University. With extensive experience in engineering education, he has guided more than 20 Ph.D. aspirants and has been leading Ashoka’s academic vision since 2017.
His focus is on empowering women through strong academics, research, and practical learning. Through mentorship and industry-oriented education, he helps students build technical knowledge, confidence, and the skills needed for successful careers.
