Civil Engineering
The Department of Civil Engineering at Ashoka Women’s Engineering College was established in the academic year 2012–2013. The department aims to promote high-quality education in civil engineering while developing students’ analytical ability, creativity, and problem-solving skills for complex engineering challenges.
Head of the Department
Dr. T. Phani Madhavi holds a B.Tech in Civil Engineering from Acharya Nagarjuna University, M.Tech in Environmental Engineering, and Ph.D in Civil Engineering from Sri Venkateswara University.
Her research areas include environmental engineering, water quality, waste management, construction management, and environmental impact assessment. With over 15 years of experience in teaching and research, she has published more than 30 research papers and actively contributes to academic and professional development.

Labs & Facilities
Focuses on construction materials, geological conditions, and site analysis.
Helps students study fluid flow behaviour, hydraulic systems, and engineering applications.
Provides practical training in field data collection using traditional and modern surveying instruments
Supports soil testing and foundation analysis to understand subsurface behaviour and structural stability.
Enables testing of material properties such as tensile strength, compressive strength, and hardness using advanced equipment.
Provides facilities to test cement, aggregates, and concrete quality. Students learn material testing procedures and quality control methods used in construction.
Career Opportunities
Diverse Careers in Infrastructure and Development
Civil Engineering graduates from Ashoka are prepared for careers in construction, infrastructure, and public sector organisations.
