Established in 2022, the Department of Computer Science and Engineering – Artificial Intelligence at Ashoka Women’s Engineering College was launched with an intake of 60 students to prepare women engineers for emerging technologies in AI and intelligent systems.

The department is supported by well-qualified and committed teaching and non-teaching faculty and is actively associated with professional bodies such as CSI and IUCEE. With a strong academic foundation and research orientation, the department aims to develop technically competent and ethically grounded AI professionals.

The program focuses on advanced computing, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and software technologies while nurturing innovation, analytical thinking, and leadership among women students.

Head of the Department

Mrs. A. Haripriya is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (Artificial Intelligence) with over 8 years of teaching experience in higher education. She is committed to delivering quality technical education, encouraging innovation, and empowering students through academic excellence and ethical learning practices. Her teaching philosophy focuses on nurturing future engineers with strong technical, research, and problem-solving skills.

She has guided more than 20 undergraduate projects and actively contributes to academic development through the organization of Faculty Development Programs (FDPs), Workshops, and Technical Seminars. Her areas of research interest include Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning.

Haripriya has published 7 research papers in Scopus-indexed journals and presented 5 papers at international conferences, reflecting her dedication toward impactful research and continuous learning. She has also completed 4 NPTEL certification courses in emerging technologies and is a Wipro Certified Faculty for the Java Full Stack program offered by Wipro Technologies.

She completed her B.Tech., in Computer Science and Engineering from JNTU Hyderabad in 2008 and M.Tech., in Computer Science and Engineering from JNTU Hyderabad in 2015, both with First Division and Distinction. She began her doctoral research journey in 2023 at VIT Bhopal in the field of Artificial Intelligence.
